Position Description :
deciBel Research is seeking an experienced Mid-level Software Engineer to support design and development activities for both modeling & simulation and tactical software on a combat system fielding and sustainment effort.
Day to day activities include :
- Supporting new capability designs within the Modeling, Simulation, & Analysis (MS&A) System-of-Systems (SoS) representative of the fielded combat system.
- Evaluate performance of advanced algorithms for inclusion in the software baseline
- Contribute to the development of analysis visualization tools
- Perform updates to threat configuration software
- Make updates and fixes to both the MS&A SoS and the tactical combat system software baseline to support sustainment efforts
Education Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related STEM field.
Experience Requirements :
- 5 years with Bachelor's degree; 3 years with Master's degree
- Experience with modeling & simulation (M&S) design and development
- Experience with tactical software design and development
- Experience with programming in C++ and Java
- Experience with scripting in Matlab and / or Python
- Experience with scrum-based Agile software development processes and tools
- Experience with continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI / CD) processes and tools
- Ability to work full time in a classified lab environment
Special Skills Desired :
- Master's degree in a STEM field
- Previous DoD program experience
- Model Based System Engineering experience
- Mission planning experience
- Command and Control (C2) and / or Weapons Control Systems experience
