Job Summary : The Human Resources Intern will assist the Human Resources team in a number of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, project management, and HR administration.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking hands-on experience in the field of Human Resources. The ideal candidate for this role is a current student who is pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and has strong organization and communication skills, a passion for people, and a desire to learn.
The candidate must be available to work 15-20 hours a week for the duration of the 10 12-week internship. Working Wednesdays, in the Corporate office, is required.
Work will be performed as a hybrid work-from-home / in-office position.
Key Functions / Basic Duties : · With direction and oversight from the recruiting team, reviews applicants and dispositions candidates appropriately · Scans HR mail, including mailing HR documents from the corporate office · Answers HR main line, directs calls accordingly, and completes verbal employment verifications · Creates and distributes SMI swag to new hires · Attends HR meetings, takes meeting minutes, follows up on tasks / questions from previous meetings · Assists with the management of performance reviews (sends bi-annual review audit emails, assists with reassigning reviews due to supervisor changes) · Participates in HR projects, such as employee engagement initiatives or benefits administration · Assists with the creation of quarterly HR Newsletter · Additional duties may be assigned.
Education and / or Experience : · Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. · Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. · Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Language Skills : Fluent in English.
Computer Skills : Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows / Office
Schedule / Work Environment : hybrid, with some in-office hours required; up to 20 hours per week
