Summary
Assures the timely receipt and issuance of material to manufacturing areas. Controls inventory and issues materials to production areas.
Performs all material movement transactions for the stockroom using the appropriate software module. Follows all AbelConn work instructions.
Manages AbelConn and Customer supplied materials assuring count accuracy at all times.
Job Duties
Controls the inventory within the stockroom and all of the transactions into and out of the stockroom, both physically and electronically.
Ensures timely / quick actions to meet manufacturing needs.
- Electronically receives and physically stocks all incoming materials assuring part count accuracy at all times both the subassemblies from production and purchased parts from external sources.
- Creates work order kits for production, pulling the designated components in the correct quantity and preparing the documentation to issue to Production.
This work is prioritized by the stockroom in support of the weekly schedule.
- Notifies the Planner, Supervisor or Buyer immediately in the event of discrepancies, shortages, or other component concerns.
- Performs regular cycle counts and participates in the annual physical inventory.
- Performs scrap transactions for manufacturing areas and potentially reissues replacements.
- Inputs all material movement transactions using the appropriate software function.
- Responsible for the accuracy of the stockroom inventories and transactional history.
- Assists / performs the analytical study to determine the cause and corrective action of errors.
- Services the manufacturing areas as required.
- Performs and assures the accuracy of the production reporting on all work orders.
- Cross-trained in the shipping and receiving functions and works these roles as required by workload in each area.
- Follows all AbelConn Work Instructions.

Job Duties - continued
Works under general supervision and gives no work direction to others. Responsible for keeping Supervisor apprised of any issues;
be it tools, safety, work load i.e. Keeps facilities, materials, and work area clean and organized, exercising care in their use.
Uses safety practices and takes prompt action to correct problems. Assists co-workers when necessary to meet work unit goals.
Actively seeks continuous improvement. May be required to train other employees and assist in orientation of new employees.
Performs other duties as required and may be utilized in other areas and departments of manufacturing as workload may dictate.
Job Specifications
High School or equivalent. Previous experience in a manufacturing setting in inventory control and stockroom procedures.
Experience in computer ERP transaction and utilization is desired. Working knowledge of electronic scales is desired. Follows oral and written instructions.
Work is performed sitting, standing, reaching, climbing ladders, lifting up to 40 lbs. and numerous other physical movements are required.
