Our purpose is to transform Earth’s most useful natural substance into products that benefit humanity. We're looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to support our industry leading products here at Tosoh Quartz, Inc.

As the Cost Accountant, you will be the key contributor to the Inventory Group to ensure that the manufacturing and related costs are accurate and are properly included in the inventory, inventory count and costs are accurate, and the cost of sales is accurate.

What you’ll do at Tosoh Quartz.

Accurate Inventory Valuation and Product Profitability

• Collect and analyze data on Company’s operational costs.
• Assist in setting standard costs of manufactured goods.
• Assist in developing and analysis of cost standards.
• Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
• Assist with analyzing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
• Analyze manufacturing product costs and prepare variance analysis of differences with standard and budgeted costs.
• Plan, review, record, and monitor fixed and variable costs.
• Ensure accurate accounting of cost of sales, margins, and inventory in the Company’s financial records. Responsible for reconciling, researching, problem solving and resolving discrepancies in the related financial records.
• Maintain standard cost system, labor analysis and reporting, cost, and analysis of variances for products and production.
• Develop and maintain labor / overhead standards and prepare accounting for overhead absorption.
• Assist with cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis.
• Support and measure outcomes of cost reduction initiatives. Serve as catalyst in cost reduction / containment initiatives related to manufacturing operations.

Review and analyze manufacturing costs on an ongoing basis.

Perform and / or review inventory count results and identify any issues or concerns that could impact inventory count and its valuation.

Recommend appropriate corrective actions.

• Prepare excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory reserve analysis, and record journal entries.
• Perform general ledger functions to support monthly general ledger closing process.

Who you are.

Minimum requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 3+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience with a minimum of 2 years as Cost Accountant
• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Cost Management Principles
• Strong time management skills
• Collaboration and teamwork

We’d love to see :

• Previous experience with budgeting and forecasting
• Experience maintaining financial models and forecasting.
