General Laborer

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable General Job Shop Helper to assist in our busy shop. This is an entrylevel position with room for growth perfect for individuals looking to build their skills in manufacturing and sheet metal work.

MIG welding experience is a plus but not required. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail a willingness to learn and the ability to support various shop activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Assist with the preparation and fabrication of sheet metal parts according to shop specifications.
• Operate hand tools power tools and shop equipment as directed by supervisors or team leads.
• Support MIG welding operations; experience in MIG welding is a plus but not required.
• Move materials load and unload parts and organize storage areas as needed.
• Perform basic assembly tasks including grinding cutting drilling and deburring of metal parts.
• Inspect parts and materials to ensure they meet quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and keep workstations clean and organized according to 5S standards.
• Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear at all times to maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist in inventory management and tracking of materials ensuring proper usage and recordkeeping.
• Provide general support across the shop floor helping with any duties required to maintain efficient production.
• Participate in job shop improvement initiatives and suggest ways to improve processes.
• Perform all tasks with a focus on quality safety and adherence to production schedules.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Skills / Qualifications :

• Basic Mechanical Skills : Ability to operate hand tools power tools and simple shop equipment.
• Attention to Detail : Ensure parts and assemblies meet quality standards with minimal defects.
• Physical Stamina : Ability to stand for extended periods lift materials and perform repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to Learn : Openness to training and learning new tasks in a manufacturing environment.
• Time Management : Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments within production timelines.
• Teamwork : Work effectively with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.
• MIG Welding Skills : Experience in MIG welding is a plus but not required.
• Safety Awareness : Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a clean hazardfree work environment.
• ProblemSolving Skills : Ability to identify issues and collaborate on solutions to improve shop processes.
• Basic Math Skills : Ability to perform simple measurements and calculations for material usage and cutting.
