Salary : $70,000 - $90,000 per year

Fantastic opportunity to join a full-service Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, and Land Planning consulting firm located in Gig Harbor and Tacoma Washington.
Rewarding and challenging place to work where employees are exposed to a wide range and variety of projects. Project types include commercial development, single-and multi-family residential, mixed-use complexes, subdivisions, utilities, and light industrial facilities.
This position can be located in the Gig Harbor or Tacoma, WA office. Re-location assistance is offered.

Job Details
The following tasks will be performed by the Design Engineer :
- Perform civil design calculations and prepare construction plans, exhibits, reports and other documents.
- Use AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and other design software to plan and design projects to be in line with industry and government standards.
- Attend design meetings and interact with other consultants, reviewing agencies and Clients.
- Meet with Team Leads and / or Project Managers to review project development and assess any issues.
- Assists with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and / or Project Managers.
- Consider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors in planning the stages of, and risk analysis for a project.
- Compile and submit permit applications to local and state agencies, verifying that projects comply with various regulations, as well as company design standards.
- Provide construction cost estimates.
- Use of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Requirements :
- Civil Design Engineer with preferably 1-6 years civil engineering professional design experience (entry-level engineers will also be considered)
- Experience in AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and other design software
- An E.I.T. and / or P.E. certification preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field
