Job Summary
Direct oversight of the policies and procedures surrounding the processing for packaging, awarding and reconciliation of aid.
Assist with the management of the fiscal operations for Title IV and State programs and ensure they align with Title IV and state regulations.
Lead, manage and provide guidance to a functional team. The incumbent will contribute to the design, coordination, analysis and completion of research projects involving the Financial Aid Office.
Essential Duties
Implement processes and procedures based on changes to federal regulations and the institutional need to maintain compliance with the U.S. Department of Education.
Investigate, analyze and compile reports related to the Title IV activities of the College
Update and maintain fiscal operations procedures.
Financial aid, regulatory and compliance practices and processes.
Business organization, administration and financial management.
Ability to use data analysis and other relevant factors to resolve issues.
Hire and train new employees in the process to meet the operational needs of the department.
Establish tasks for the team and / or supervisors, organization programs and processes, and setting priorities.
Provide direct supervision and continuous performance feedback to the team members.
Ability to use leadership and management skills effectively; have knowledge of the key supervisory functions, operations and training principles.
Must be able to handle confidential information and data.
Must have operational knowledge of U.S. Department of Education databases such as COD, NSLDS and FSA Partners.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences, Public Administration, or Business Administration or related field. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.
3 years related experience and / or supervisor experience.
Demonstrated combination of education and experience level.
Knowledge of and experience of Title IV regulations.
Operational knowledge of the Ellucian Banner student information system or similar financial aid software.
Leadership and management skills; knowledge of the key supervision, operations, and training principles and how they relate to the management of a complex, multi-staff environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain a collaborative working environment.
Ability to use data analysis and other relevant factors to resolve issues.
Ability to work both in a collaborative working environment but also work independently.
Ability to walk short distances within the campus.
Ability to work for prolonged periods of time at a computer.
