Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Assistant Dean, External Relations and Advancement for The School of Public Health.

The UNR School of Public Health prioritizes community engagement and partnerships as a core component of our mission. Advancement in public health supports initiatives such as international research collaborations, global health education programs, and efforts to address global, national and regional health challenges.

The Assistant Dean, External Relations and Advancement is a key member of the senior leadership team for the School of Public Health and reports directly to the Dean.

This position plays a critical role in increasing the growth and visibility of our school locally, regionally and nationally.

The Assistant Dean will create and drive the growth strategy designed to support the funding of the Dean’s priorities, align school-based priorities with those of institutional leadership, and manage the operations for external relationships, alumni relations, and advancement for the school.

Additionally, this position will contribute significantly to the school’s fundraising success and fostering donor relationships, maintaining collaborative working relationships with the university foundation, strategic planning, and effectively managing resources.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and six years of related professional work experience, or a Master’s Degree and four years of related professional work experience.

Related experience : Progressively responsible professional experience in areas of development, prospect management and research, and strategic planning or a related field

Less than 10%

Experience in a public health or healthcare setting

The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate.
