Job Description
Brilliant Financial Staffing is currently hiring for an Accounting Specialist for our client located in Vernon Hills, IL .
Our client is a growing company offering an exciting opportunity for candidates to be exposed to multiple areas of their business.
This role will support the Accounts Payable (AP) function while also serving as a backup for Accounts Receivable (AR). This position offers strong growth potential as they continue to develop their team.
The Accounting Specialist will work closely with the CFO, who brings a wealth of experience and a collaborative approach to leadership.

Accounting Specialist Responsibilities :
- Enter invoices daily into the system
- Generate A / P aging reports weekly
- Recommend payment priorities
- Cut 25-50 checks weekly
- Process wire transfers
- Collaborate with the Assistant Controller and capture SOPs via Teams for process training
- Make outbound collection calls
- Investigate and resolve past-due invoices with customers
- Assist the AR team by handling inquiries and cross-training on AR functions
- Assist with additional responsibilities as assigned
Accounting Specialist Qualifications :
- Experience with both AP and AR, with a willingness to take on a variety of tasks as needed
- Strong attention to detail and a mindset focused on process improvement
- Open to change and adaptable to new systems and processes
- A degree in Accounting or Finance (though not required).
