As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machines and equipment.
You will use preventive and predictive maintenance processes to rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and quickly restore equipment to support the successful operation of the plant.
You will be a team player in helping other maintenance technicians to solve problems, work with building leaders to optimize machines and equipment, and meet aggressive time lines.
You will collaborate with Maintenance Technicians and Managers to perform Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures . This position works a Monday-Friday from 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Perform preventative, predictive, and breakdown repair on all critical machinery, auxiliary equipment, as well as facility maintenance.
Troubleshoot Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Belt Heat Treat, E-Coat, Dip-Spin coating equipment including PLC controls.
Machining / fabricating / welding parts for production equipment and process improvement upgrades. (65%)
Assist in establishing an effective, professional relationship with contractors and validating the quality of work for outside specialty contractors,for building, facilities and new equipment installation projects. (25%)
Assist in determining available options and order parts needed to make necessary repairs to equipment and building. (10%)
And other assigned duties.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
If you can do everything listed above, you have what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too :
- 5+ years of experience in a maintenance field.
- 5 years of experience with gas fired Heat Treat Belt Furnaces.
- 5 years of experience with conveying systems.
- 5 years of experience with nitrogen gas used for purging furnaces.
- Associate's degree or equivalent college or technical school is preferred.
- Maintenance & Repair : Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical power systems.
- Experience with E-coating and Dip-spin equipment and processes.
- Reading Comprehension : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Analysis / Reasoning : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Mathematical Reasoning : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Safety : Ability to consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating a safe work practice by promoting a safe work environment.
- Quality : Ability to follow work instruction precisely, add materials accurately and maintain ISO documentation.
- Work Independently : Ability to follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.
- Computer : Ability to use the internet to research parts, communicate via email and use the CMMS to record and accept work request.

This role operates large equipment and needs to constantly position self to maintain the operation of equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regularly work around moving mechanical parts. Noise level is loud. The job may risk exposure to dust, heat and / or cold, wet, or humid conditions.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
This job requires some domestic travel.

This full-time, non-exempt position is in Gallatin, TN.

$25.00 - $38.56 / hour
