Description

Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Director of Finance Technology identifies opportunities for process improvement and optimization, enhancing the overall efficiency of finance systems and operations.

The Director of Finance Technology serves as a member of the leadership team within the Finance department.

Work Location

The work location for this position is the OSU Foundation’s Corvallis, Oregon office.

The Foundation offers a program called Core Work Days, a hybrid approach combining remote and in-office work days. Unless traveling for work, Foundation employees are in office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and work remotely, if preferred, on Monday and Friday.

Key Partners

The Director of Finance Technology is responsible for ensuring a strong partnership based on trust, effective service and accountability with the Foundation’s CFO, Finance staff, OSU’s financial personnel, Business Center Managers, External Service Providers and with the donor community.

Of utmost importance is a strong partnership and working relationship with internal staff within the OSU Foundation.

Major Duties

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical specifications and solutions with technology partners.

Conduct thorough testing and validation of system enhancements to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization, enhancing the overall efficiency of finance systems and operations.

Serve as the liaison between finance users and the IT development team, ensuring that project requirements are accurately captured and implemented.

Develop comprehensive documentation, including process models, specifications, and flowcharts, to support system enhancements and implementations.

Provide ongoing support and training to end users, empowering them to leverage technology effectively in their roles.

Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, incorporating new technologies and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.

Provide analytical support to CFO for special projects as needed

Perform ad hoc financial reporting & analysis for customers (University and Foundation), as needed

Assist in the annual audit through fiscal year-end schedules as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Comprehensive knowledge of :

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting , or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Finance / Technology role, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

Experience in higher education and non-profit organizations preferred. Education and experience equivalencies will be considered.
