  • Job Title : Head of Marketing
  • Level & Responsibility : This role will be a senior leader within SMG, responsible for leading our newly formed North America Marketing team.
  • Salary : $100,000 - $150,000, depending on experience, and a discretionary bonus.
  • Location & Hybrid Working : This is a hybrid role, with regular travel to our head office located in New York required.

The role

We are looking for a Head of Marketing to join our marketing team within our Threefold Agency (part of the SMG Network). In this role, your success will hinge on your ability to drive best-in-class marketing campaigns, cultivate organic, earned & paid opportunities, and lead the team as a commercially-minded marketer.

You'll take charge of setting and achieving Marketing goals, while also cultivating relationships with key stakeholders across SMG, our clients & partners.

  • A proven track record in delivering business growth in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Significant experience in a marketing leadership role within a Sales organization in the Advertising industry, preferably with Retail Media experience.
  • Strong marketing acumen, able to work seamlessly with data & stay at the frontier of trends to support commercial priorities.
  • Flawless attitude at all times in all environments, with a strong will to succeed.
  • The ability to work with multiple senior stakeholders to deliver best-in-class client service, at all times.

What you'll be doing

We pride ourselves on creating challenging and exciting opportunities, meaning that no two days are the same. However, here's an idea of what your responsibilities will look like :

Annual Strategic Planning & Marketing Org Design : Develop and implement a comprehensive annual marketing strategy aligned with SMG's North American business objectives and total global marketing objectives.

Design and structure marketing processes to effectively support these objectives, ensuring integration across all marketing activities.

Individual Marketing Function Planning & Execution : Oversee the planning and execution of specific marketing functions, including branding, digital marketing, content creation, events, public relations, and demand generation.

Ensure each function contributes to overall marketing goals and delivers measurable results.

Budget Management : Manage the annual NA marketing budget, allocating resources effectively across various functions and campaigns.

Continuously monitor and optimize ROI for all marketing initiatives, making data-driven decisions to maximize the impact of SMG's marketing investments in conjunction with Commercial leaders within the NA teams.

Tooling, Reporting & Responsibilities of the Marketing Functions : Scope, develop, implement and optimize standardized tools, processes, and reporting mechanisms across all marketing functions working with the Global Marketing Director to ensure processes & tools are uniform across the total business where possible.

Establish clear responsibilities and KPIs for each function with the Global Marketing Director, ensuring consistency and efficiency in marketing operations and performance measurement.

SMG Brand & Content Strategy for North America : Lead the development and execution of SMG's brand strategy in North America, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints within the market and adhering to global guidelines.

Oversee the creation of compelling content that reinforces SMG's positioning, engages in topical dialogue, supports business development efforts, and engages and nurtures target prospects.

Client, Prospect & Partner Management : Foster strong relationships with key clients, prospects, and partners through strategic marketing initiatives and working with SMG leadership to strengthen said relationships.

Coordinate with the business development & retail partner teams to ensure marketing efforts effectively support client acquisition and organic growth goals.

Marketing Team Building, Management & Development : Build and lead a high-performing marketing team, attracting top talent and fostering a culture of excellence in execution.

Provide mentorship, professional development opportunities, and clear career paths for team members.

NA Leadership Cross-Team Collaboration & Communication : Collaborate closely with other departments and leadership teams to ensure marketing strategies directly support business objectives.

Facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing across the organization to drive cohesive marketing efforts, understanding of the NA Marketing plans and performance, and highlight opportunities to improve Marketing's contribution to business results.

Design & Execution of Prospect Nurturing Programs : Develop and implement sophisticated prospect nurturing programs that leverage marketing automation, personalized content, and multi-channel engagement strategies.

Continuously refine these programs based on performance data to improve conversion rates and accelerate the sales cycle.

Lead elevation of SMG's Standing with Industry Bodies & Trades : Spearhead initiatives to enhance SMG's reputation and influence within key industry associations and trade organizations.

Develop strategies for thought leadership, speaking engagements, and industry partnerships that position SMG as a leader in the North American market.
