Background : FPAC has established a centralized analytics team, Office of the Assistant Chief Data Officer (ACDO), to help establish a framework for long-term adoption and management of analytics across the mission area.
Objectives : The Team Member will provide data engineering services for the following :
- Support the modernization effort migrating legacy data to EDAPT and other cloud solutions delivering data analytics solutions more effectively and efficiently.
- Support business users and data analysts' day to day uses of the developed analytical products such as dashboards and tabular reports.
- Support and enhance existing analytical products based on current technologies such as Tableau and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) / Oracle Analytics Server (OAS), and to support and leverage any future technologies.
Responsibilities :
- Processing, cleansing & verifying of data.
- Analyzing data for trends and patterns and to find answers to specific questions.
- Setting up data infrastructure, data catalogs, and troubleshooting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain databases for features.
- Assess quality of data and remove or clean data.
- Generating information and insights from data sets and identifying trends and patterns.
- Preparing reports for executive and project teams.
- Create and manage visualization of data.
- Mapping data sources : An understanding of where data is stored and maintained.
- Defining logical integrative views of data.
- Documenting existing data movement.
- Coordinate efforts and foster consistency while documenting the frequency of movement, the source and destination of each step, how the data is transformed as it moves, and any aggregation or calculations.
Required Qualifications :
- 3+ Years Experience.
- Strong mathematical & numeracy skills.
- Intermediate understanding of databases such as SQL Server, Informix, and other Cloud solutions such as PostgreSQL, Cloudera Linux.
- Understanding of reporting & data visualization tools such as OBIEE and Tableau.
- Understanding of website scripts such as JSON.
- Understanding and Experience of ETL framework and ETL tools similar to DataStage, Glue ETL.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Presentation skills - ability to write and speak clearly to easily communicate complex ideas.
- Problem-solving skills.
- A good communicator with effective stakeholder management & conflict resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certification in data engineering or related areas (AWS or Azure).
- Experience with additional databases, cloud platforms, and virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in testing web services and APIs.
- Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
