Description
A third generation family operated business is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk for our corporate office in West Knoxville.
We are a contractor that sells and services industrial power system across the country. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the overall accounting functions of the organization.
This position will assist our Controller and requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software to ensure compliance with corporate accounting standards.
The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m.
Job Responsibilities
- Accounts payable invoice coding into our accounting system.
- Managing and coding the monthly credit card expenses company wide.
- Interact with purchasing to resolve any invoice discrepancies.
- Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks.
- Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and corporate accounts payable files.
- Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices.
- Sales tax reporting for multiple states.
- Applying payments to customer accounts.
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and account management.
- Support month-end closing processes by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
- Ability to utilize accounting software for efficient processing of accounts.
Qualifications
- Accounting degree or 2+ years or experience preferred.
- Previous experience with accounting functions and software
- Organization and time management skills.
- Microsoft Office experience, Excel formulas, sorting, and filtering functions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Maintain a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
