Armand Corporation, an award-winning M / WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Fire Protection and Plumbing Engineer in Jersey City, New Jersey .
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of diverse experience in building fire protection and plumbing codes and systems, as well as a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
This position will be full-time, on-site. Candidates are expected to live in or near the Jersey City, New Jersey area. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following : Assisting various department divisions, Including the engineering department, quality assurance department, and design standards unit, in reviewing and upkeeping fire protection and plumbing compliance for tenant projects and design audits.
Administrate the filing of Tenant Alteration Applications (TAA) in physical and digital formats Perform calculations on hydraulic calculations as necessary per project specifications.
Provide daily reports on ongoing projects to Design Standards Unit Manager, Tenant Architect / Engineer, and other managerial staff across all phases of engineering design process;
transmit review comments to the line departments. Assess any issues that arise in technical records and provide proper resolution to ensure workflow is maintained.
Additional duties as necessary. QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following : Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in building diverse fire protection and plumbing codes and systems. Must possess a Professional Engineer's License in the state of New York and / or New Jersey.
Strong understanding of fire protection and plumbing disciplines related to building design and construction of transportation and related facilities Strong computer skills, including MS Office, Autocad, Bluebeam, ProCore, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant construction software.
