Armand Corporation, an award-winning M / WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Fire Protection and Plumbing Engineer in Jersey City, New Jersey .
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of diverse experience in building fire protection and plumbing codes and systems, as well as a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
This position will be full-time, on-site. Candidates are expected to live in or near the Jersey City, New Jersey area.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Assisting various department divisions, Including the engineering department, quality assurance department, and design standards unit, in reviewing and upkeeping fire protection and plumbing compliance for tenant projects and design audits.
- Administrate the filing of Tenant Alteration Applications (TAA) in physical and digital formats
- Perform calculations on hydraulic calculations as necessary per project specifications.
- Provide daily reports on ongoing projects to Design Standards Unit Manager, Tenant Architect / Engineer, and other managerial staff across all phases of engineering design process;
transmit review comments to the line departments.
- Assess any issues that arise in technical records and provide proper resolution to ensure workflow is maintained.
- Additional duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in building diverse fire protection and plumbing codes and systems.
- Must possess a Professional Engineer's License in the state of New York and / or New Jersey.
- Strong understanding of fire protection and plumbing disciplines related to building design and construction of transportation and related facilities
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office, Autocad, Bluebeam, ProCore, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant construction software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken)
