Vice President, Transportation Accounts

Marathon TS is seeking a highly motivated Vice President to lead our transportation account in the greater Washington DC area.
The ideal candidate will have proven customer delivery experience and existing relationships at the Department of Transportation (DOT) and / or the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
This hybrid role includes billable work, management of the transportation accounts, and business development. Candidates must live in the DMV area for occasional onsite government work and meetings.
Candidate will provide day-to-day management and oversight of DOT service delivery in areas such as SaaS / PaaS Implementation (notably Salesforce), Application / Software Development, Data Analytics and Visualization, Cloud Enablement, DevOps, Agile Transformation, Digital Modernization and Cybersecurity.
Your future duties and responsibilities :
- Be responsible and accountable for all the operational delivery across all our transportation sector customers.
- Meet regularly with customers to ensure customer satisfaction, identify risks, and facilitate resolutions with customer and direct reports.
- Lead DOT account customer delivery, technical solution development, sales pipeline development, and capture activities.
- Provide management and oversight of DOT service delivery in areas such as Application / Software Development, Data Analytics, Cloud Enablement, DevOps, SaaS / PaaS Implementation, Agile Transformation, Digital Modernization, and Cybersecurity.
- Develop and maintain close relationships with transportation clients.
- Support high-quality delivery, customer relationship management, recruiting, lead capture, and sales efforts.
- Communicate effectively with senior managers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Utilize knowledge of government IT contracting, acquisition trends, and federal customer buying behaviors.
- Shape proposal criteria to maximize scoring and develop winning proposals.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- years of experience managing an account P&L for a small business, leading IT delivery teams, business development, and proposal development in the Federal IT market.
- years of experience managing and leading IT services delivery teams in the Federal transportation market.
- Deep customer relationships within the transportation market.
- Experience with all aspects of capture management, including developing and submitting winning proposals.
- Domain expertise in SaaS / PaaS Implementation (notably Salesforce), Agile Software Development, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Cybersecurity.
- Proven knowledge of DOT customer mission requirements and IT buying habits.
- Strong leadership, business ethics, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- In-depth proven knowledge of DOT customer mission requirements and IT buying habits is preferred.
- Ability to shape Section L and Section M criteria to maximize scoring
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong proposal development expertise with color reviews, developing win themes, discriminators, value propositions and embedding this in the finished proposal product
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple capture actions of small to large IT focused opportunities across multiple customers, multiple capabilities and multiple locations as prime and as a subcontractor.
Clearance : Must be a Citizen and be able to obtain a Federal government client badge and be required to pass a government Public Trust background investigation.
