Payroll Specialist
LHH Recruitment Solutions is hiring a Payroll Specialist in Vernon Hills, IL. Seeking strong payroll experience and ideally ADP, but open to other systems as well.
Worksite Location : Confirming whether this will be 100% onsite or hybrid in Vernon Hills, IL - TBD
Temp (with potential for longer term)
Pay : $25-30 / hour (DOE)
Working Hours : 8-5
Responsibilities :
Straight production unit handling payroll - rules and audit driven, report to accounting.
numerous locations across the country, hourly, salary, multistate work with every state.
Responsible for handling 2-3k employees payroll processing at a time although total amount is higher, but everyone has a set location
Follow very specific process every time and every day.
Very fast paced - Straight processing, loading time, balancing and preparing audit packet.
Provide support to the location HR Team and have responsibility of processing weekly payroll for a variety of locations and plant populations.
Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Accountable for the accurate and timely processing of assigned multi-state payroll and any special or bonus payrolls.
Handling internal and external audit requests.
Producing assigned payroll reports and audit and correct any errors or discrepancies.
Ensuring accuracy of all information prior to entry to ensure compliance with company policy.
Assist HR and Benefits with payroll & policy questions or steer in appropriate direction to get answers.
Be a liaison with field HR to ensure employees are coded and paid properly.
Maintain confidential files and maintenance of all employee records.
Assist all locations with questions related to Payroll.
Respond to leadership, accounting, and other user requests for a variety of on-demand Finance reports and other ad hoc requests as needed.
Perform periodic audits of data entered into ADP system. Ensure report results are consistent, reliable and accurate.
Understand multi-state reporting and requirements therein.
Subject Matter expert for Union Locations and associated processing requirements.
