The Human Resource Director (HRD) is astrategic partner to the Facility CEO and other leadership teammembers responsible for defining developing and implementing humanresources initiatives.

The HRD is responsible for providingleadership and strategic direction for all areas of Human Resourcesincluding : employee relations talent acquisition and assessmentcompensation management performance management training andleadership development policy and procedures;

and managing a teamof HR professionals. The HRD reports directly to the hospital CEOwhile receiving formal direction from the HSC Human ResourceBusiness Partner (HRBP).

Reports to : Chief Executive Officer

Responsibilities of thePosition

To perform this job anindividual must perform each essential function satisfactorily withor without reasonable accommodation.

Responsible for providing leadership and strategicdirection for all areas of Human Resources within the assignedfacilities.

Lead the activities of HumanResources staff members in the hospital including definingexpectations training and managing performance.

Works in conjunction with and takedirection from HRBP to ensure alignment of HR Strategy andVision.

Responsible for developing andimplementing effective strategic recruitment retention andsuccession planning programs adhering to metrics and an analysisdriven strategy.

Serves as aliaison with the hospital leadership team communicating and leadingHR strategic initiatives analysis and recommendations.

Develops an expectation of consistentadministration and application of HR policies ensuring compliancewith federal state and local regulations.

Provides advice and counsel tofacility management regarding appropriate progressive discipline;attend disciplinary meetings investigations when appropriate andfacilitate terminations to promote a positive employee / employerrelationship.

Direct thedevelopment and maintenance of competitive compensation programsutilizing market data and HRBP support.

Responsible for ensuring HR compliance and readiness forJoint Commission state / local surveys SOX audits and otheraudits.

Develops andutilizes effective communication channels for educating andinforming employees on various topics with a focus on employeeengagement (including but not limited to employee benefits changespolicy changes legal updates training and development).

Provide primary oversight andleadership for various HR related programs / initiatives includingWorkers Compensation program Performance Management program HR Dataintegrity and data entry Leave of Absence program payrollactivities in coordination with vendor.

Develop monitor review coordinate andfacilitate training programs as needed in alignment with hospitaland organizational strategies.

Ensure compliance with federal state and local legalrequirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipatinglegislation;

enforcing adherence to requirements; advisingmanagement on needed actions.

Takes an activerole in and supports the hospitals community efforts Regular andreliable attendance.

Perform other duties asassigned.

Demonstrates excellent customer service through his / herattitude and actions consistent with the standards contained in theVision Mission and Values of the organization.

Adheres to professional standardshospital policies and procedures federal state and localrequirements and the TJC standards and or standards from otheraccrediting bodies.

Participates in ongoing quality improvementactivities.

Qualifications

MinimumEducation

Bachelors Degree isrequired.

Masters Degree is preferred.

Certifications / Licenses

PHR / SPHR certification is preferred.

Minimum WorkExperience

Five years ofprogressive HR experience with a concentration on EmployeeRelations Talent Acquisition Talent Management Training andDevelopment and Compensation Management preferably in thehealthcare industry.

Supervisory experience overseeing various HRsupport roles preferred. Previous experience overseeing theemployee relations of a large number of employees in multisitesetting highly desirable.

Extensive knowledge of federal and stateemployment law CMS OSHA and TJC regulatory compliance.

RequiredSkills

Business MathematicalSkills Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units ofmeasure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.

Abilityto compute rates ratios and percentages and to draw and interpretgraphs.

Advanced ComputerSkills Routine use of electronic mail and computer systems. Abilityto incorporate complex and complicated functions into documentsspreadsheets databases and presentations to support businessobjectives.

ComplexCommunication Frequently communicates complex information andinteracts with management. Can present resolve and address delicatesituations.

Can motivate and persuade others. Experience in ahealthcare environment utilizing the tenants of Just Culture isstrongly preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skillsis required. Must possess strong communication and problemsolvingskills.

Varied BusinessProblems Problems are varied and complex requiring analysis orinterpretation of the situation. Problems are solved usingknowledge and skills general precedent and practices.

Department Specific Decisions impactthe management and operations within a department may contribute tobusiness and operational decisions that affect thedepartment.

FunctionalIndependent Judgment Provides and sets goals and priorities forfunctional area. May make recommendations for department policiespractices and programs.

Makes decisions for and / or resolvesproblems for others.

ProjectPlanning / Organization Handle multiple projects simultaneouslyincluding task delegation project oversight and resourceallocation.

Goodcommunications skills to present the companys position to differentmanagement groups union representatives and governmentofficials.
