POSITION SUMMARY :

The Accounting Manager is responsible for handling the overall management and supervision of the accounting department as well as the development and implementation of policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Codes invoices as per timesheets, sets up new customer / vendor accounts aligned with contracts and work orders.

Reconciles bank accounts, company credit cards, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks and close books on monthly basis.

Deposit checks, reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.

Reconcile accounts receivable collections and resolves issues in a timely manner.

Verifies and / or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year.

Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.

Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.

Resolve tax related issues with state and federal government.

Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

Prepares monthly balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other management reports.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

Bachelor s Degree or higher in Accounting or Business Management.

5 or more years of experience in accounting.
