Budget & Management Services (BMS) has the responsibility of providing accurate, timely and well-researched information and guidance to the Board of Commissioners and the County Manager resulting in the annual budget for all Wake County government services.
The three-person systems team supports the department by automating work, improving data quality, and partnering to provide strategic approaches to the complex challenges that Budget & Management staff face.
BMS’s hard work and dedication paid off this June, when the Wake County Board of Commissioners adopted a $ billion General Fund budget for Fiscal Year 2025.
The budget not only addresses needs for the citizens of Wake County, it also supports the employees who work every day to make Wake County the home of the best cities to live, work and play.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field
- Three years of experience in complex information systems analysis
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
- Three years of experience in ERP system maintenance, configuration and analytical use
- Three years of proficiency with MS Excel for data validation and analysis
- One year of proficiency with SQL queries
