Position Summary : The Health Education Specialist will be responsible for coordinating,
scheduling, and facilitating human growth and development education, HIV / AIDS education and
prevention, along with other health related education trainings in elementary grade levels. The
Health Education Specialist supports health education in a comprehensive capacity providing
resources and support to students, staff, community members, and is a liaison for the education
work of Tulsa Public School and partners. The position will lend support to the Lead Health
Education Coordinator in scheduling and coordinating health education that takes place in
secondary schools and other district sites.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in health education, teaching human growth & development, sexuality
or reproductive health education or in a related field
Experience :
One (1) year experience working in K- school setting serving low-income students and
communities
Experience working with a variety of agencies and community resources involved with
diverse population of students and families
Experience working with adolescents in a group setting and running groups
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc. :
Comprehensive command of human growth & development health information,
pregnancy prevention and basic health counseling skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
