Northwest Aerospace Technologies ( NAT ), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States.
Focusing on commercial and military aircrafts, NAT provides first class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue Chip customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities :
The Level 1 Electrical Engineer has the following scope of work :
- Support the design, development and substantiation of the installation of electrical components and systems into retrofit aircraft applications.
- Firm understanding of fundamental electrical principals such as Ohm's law and Watt's law.
- Develop peer review check packages for generated engineering drawings.
- Ensure the design content conforms to the company quality system procedures as documented, the customer statement of work, along with applicable certification requirements.
- Work with ODA UM's and EASA CVE's to ensure designs are compliant to airworthiness requirements.
- Coordinate with engineers from other disciplines within the company to accomplish tasks
- Responsible to perform the activities listed in one of the following three electrical disciplines :
System Design Engineering Discipline :
- Research existing aircraft data using OEM and vendor aircraft portals / drawings.
- Reconfigure existing aircraft systems to interface with newly added systems / components.
- Ensure existing systems continue to function as intended.
- Create Wiring Diagrams using AutoCAD
- Create System Schematics using AutoCAD
- Define electrical aircraft interface locations and connections for interior monuments being installed.
- Effectively utilize the Boeing standard wiring practices manual (SWPM) or Airbus electrical standard practices manual (ESPM).
- Use standard electrical principals to ensure newly installed or modified systems.
- Create of a Wire Kit (cable assembly) with the understanding of parts, material specs and processes required for the creation of kit.
Installation Engineering Discipline :
- Research existing aircraft data using OEM and vendor aircraft portals / drawings.
- Create wire routing and installation drawings using AutoCAD.
- Generate clamping arrangements and identify when existing routing can be reutilized.
- Ability to define effectivity splits.
- Effectively utilize the Boeing standard wiring practices manual (SWPM) or Airbus electrical standard practices manual (ESPM).
- Define critical areas of EWIS wire routing and have a working knowledge of wire separation requirements.
- Research vendor parts data, processes and specifications (MIL, NAS, BAC, ABS, MS, NSA, BMS ).
- Ability to create Parts Lists and Collector Drawings.
- Develop Engineering Orders (EO) to assist technicians on the proper installation order.

Job Requirements
Substantiation Engineering Discipline :
- Prepare the following substantiation documents :
- Aircraft Electrical Load Analysis,
- EMI Ground and Flight Test Plans,
- Transverse Vertical Separation Analysis,
- EWIS Reports,
- Prepare Fuel Separation Analysis
- Disturbed Systems Analysis, Functional Test Plans
- System Safety Assessments
- Fault Hazard Assessments
General Notes :

Knowledge / Experience :
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent area of focus.
- An engineering degree or 2-5 years of broad technical experience as a drafter / designer in an aerospace related application, preferred
- Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, and AutoCAD

- Understanding of customer's expectations

Working Conditions :
- Primarily office work
- Consistent use of computer key board and monitor
- Does require fluent communication in English
- Protracted or irregular hours may be required
- Must be comfortable working to meet firm deadlines, thus completing work on time
