King Estate Winery in Eugene, Oregon seeks a Chief Financial Officer. This position is responsible for the finance and accounting functions of the winery.
CPA, relevant Master's degree and 10+ years’ finance and wine industry experience preferred. The CFO will manage the finance operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, and managing the overall financial health of the estate.
The CFO is responsible for tracking cash flow and financial planning while analyzing the company’s financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing strategic direction.

Essential Job Functions :
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the winery’s fiscal function and performance.
- Participate in the development of the Estate’s plans and programs as a strategic partner including all forecasting and analytics, planning and budgeting, and variance reporting.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-term planning, introduction of new programs / strategies, and regulatory action.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist the CEO and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
- Enhance and / or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company in regards to financial standing.
- Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.
- Reports quarterly internal financial statements to bank to satisfy loan covenants.
- Facilitates handling of general insurance business.
- Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
- Provide strategic financial input and positive leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization, i.e., evaluation of potential alliances and pension funds and investments.
- Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
- Evaluation of the finance department structure and team planning for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities of individuals.
- Overseeing the Accounting department as a whole; i.e., accounting functions, tax matters, all banking relations.
- Participate in strategic planning and marketing.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of cost management.
- Maintain positive relationships with all customers including bankers, growers, and vendors.
Experience & Education :
- Master’s Degree or 10+ years in related work experience and / or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be forward-thinking, and creative with high ethical standards.
- Ability to relate to people at all levels while exhibiting excellent communication skills.
- Ability to educate and serve as a mentor.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Wine industry experience a plus.
- Sage knowledge a plus.
