What Do You Offer Us?Position will be responsible for area level safety leadership across an assigned area.Focus shall be field safety leadership in an assigned area.

The Area Safety Manager will report to the Director of Safety or other assigned department senior manager.Embody and apply core values : Safety, Quality, Integrity, Ownership, Service and Team.

Have a positive attitude. Present solutions when presenting problems. Be a part of the solution.Manage other safety professionals or admin as assigned.

Perform area and job site level audits based on event trending, lagging / leading indicators and safety needs identified with Safety Director or other department senior manager.

Coordinate injury management through Worker’s Compensation Manager and assist in establishing area injury management resources and relationship building as assigned by Safety Director.

Provide area level safety leadership and promote a positive safety culture as assigned.Participate in parent company level safety audits across the organization and coordinate corrective actions feedback to the Safety Director and operations management.

Participate in After Action Review calls relevant to events occurring within assigned area. Coordinate follow-up.Review weekly Ops Reports for safety planning purposes with Safety Director.

Assist with training instruction and scheduling as directed by the Safety Director.May assist with / lead special projects as assigned related to organization wide related safety matters.

Assist with root cause identification, investigations, and case management within assigned area.Complete a monthly expense report for company Purchasing Card.

Shall spend within set departmental guidelines. Submit Purchase Card activity monthly to Safety DirectorCoordinate, manage and respond to OSHA agency level audits as directed by the Safety Director or other department senior manager.

Coordinate support efforts with Safety Director.As assigned by the Safety Director, will make sure investigations, corrective actions and safety planning are purposeful, complete, and supported.

Shall ensure timely notifications for serious events are made to the Safety Director.All other assigned responsibilities by Safety Director or other assigned department senior manager.

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health desired, or significant practical experienceWill maintain current certification in OSHA 500, CPR, AED, basic first aid and any other required topics.

Ideally live within 1 hour driving commute of assigned operating area.On call 24 / 7 or as assigned after hours, weekends and holidays.

At least 5 years in a managerial safety role within electrical distribution construction.Knowledgeable of OSHA electrical standards.

Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)Previous experience in Electrical Transmission and Distribution Construction or Inspection is desired but not required.

Familiarity with writing health and safety policies and procedures.Proficiency in conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.

Must be able to travel nationwide or region as needed. Must travel to all assigned areas monthly. Overnight travel as needed to support position and duties.

Must maintain professional interaction, appearances, and communication within all levels of organization.Continued professional development and Quanta train-the-trainer certification preferred.

Qualify as company-approved driver. Demonstrate safe driving behaviors. Follow all DMV rules and regulations.This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and / or 49 CFR Part 199.
