Job Summary
This position is remote, but occasional travel for training and meetings may be required, so the successful candidate will be a resident of Pennsylvania.
Summary / Objective
This position will report to the Director of SAP Human Capital Management Systems and will work closely with the team responsible for the administration of the SAP HCM system, System Human Resources and Payroll shared services area, the universities, and others to provide advice regarding system capabilities, identifying and documenting functional requirements, recommending priorities, performing system configuration, and completing assigned system deliverables in support of SAP HCM systems and other related functionality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with and provides support to the Director, SAP HCM in completing day-to-day work assignments within the above functional areas of SAP Human Resources / Payroll
- Responsible for system configuration required to satisfy requirements from end users, other System support teams, and System Human Resources and Payroll departments for fixes, changes, and enhancements to the SAP HCM system
- Work in conjunction with System Human Resources and Payroll to generate a plan to meet human resource central office and campus needs for fixes, changes, and enhancements to the human resource functionality
- Assist System Human Resources and Payroll in the identification and analysis of end-user problems and in determining viable solutions
- Work directly with end-users to interpret and clarify configuration details and process change requirements
- Work with end users, other functional area analysts / teams, and other personnel to test configuration changes and ensure changes meet identified requirements.
- Represent Human Resources / Payroll in meetings with end users, other functional area analysts / teams, and other personnel involving exploration of technical applications to meet human resource needs
- Research, implement, and test technical Notes from SAP as needed
- Work with System Human Resources and Payroll to provide input to the Training and Documentation team on new and revised business processes
- Assist in the end-user training process as necessary
- Conduct testing of changes and maintain documentation
- Review technical developments in the marketplace relative to SAP and advise on trends
- Review technical applications and investigate other technical solutions to address new needs or improve current human resource functionality
- Work closely with the technical staff to design and develop reports, forms, interfaces, and conversions
- Create and maintain project documentation, including requirements, specifications, and user manuals
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, SAP HCM
Minimum Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or related subject
- At least 3 years of experience supporting the human resources processes such as personnel administration, org Management, benefits, payroll and / or time management modules
- As an alternative to a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree and 5 years of Human Resources experience may be considered
Other Qualifications / Abilities (Required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently as a subject matter expert (SME) in a team environment
- Ability to develop / lead training sessions
- Experience providing technical training to a non-technical audience
- Analytical and organizational ability necessary to interpret user needs and requirements into a recommendation for system changes / enhancements
- Ability to multi-task and work in an open team environment
- Knowledge of business processes improvement methods using technological applications and solutions
- An understanding of the impact of changes in a highly integrated information system
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other team members
- Highly motivated with an appetite for knowledge and continued learning
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on SAP configuration experience, including experience writing SAP Dynamic Actions and Payroll or Time calculation rules
- At least 3 years of experience supporting the SAP HCM modules such as Personnel Administration, Org Management, Benefits, Payroll and / or Time Management modules.
- Experience supporting SAP Employee and Manager’s Self Service
- Participation in at least 1 full cycle SAP upgrade and / or annual Support Pack application and testing
- Experience with SAP Fiori applications for HCM
- Experience with or knowledge of SAP version S4
- Functional Human Resources experience in the areas of payroll and / or time management administration
- Knowledge and / or experience with SAP in Higher Education or Public Sector
