Design at Ethos

Designers at Ethos play an instrumental role in shaping every aspect of the product. We work across the organization to develop novel solutions to large, interesting challenges, and build world class products that create real value for real people.

You will experiment, invent, and occasionally fail but most importantly, you will learn and advocate tirelessly for the customers you are creating products for.

About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned designer to help take our consumer experience to the next level. As part of a small team, you'll help set the bar for quality and impact for the team.

You'll work across a variety of products and experiences, including both "zero-to-one" experiences where you operate in a fast-moving "startup within a startup" and optimizing our core businesses.

You'll work on our "Growth & New Business" team, where you'll help lead the strategy and execution to grow our business. You'll run experiments at the top of the funnel for our core products and help build new business lines that will grow to contribute meaningfully to our overall revenue.

Duties and Responsibilities : Lead design strategy across multiple business unitsManage executive stakeholders across engineering, product, marketing, and moreIdentify opportunity areas to make large bets and align the organization to bring the desired impact into realityHelp set the vision for our overall user experienceDefine and build new products and iterate on existing onesDrive improvements to the product development process with cross functional partnersQualifications and Skills :

7+ years of in-house product design experience for a direct to consumer productAn understanding of when to use the design process and when to shortcut itAbility to move quickly while producing high quality designsA strong portfolio that demonstrates your impact and leadershipDemonstrated ability to drive business impactAbility to reduce complex problems down to flexible and intuitive patternsExtensive experience leading projects and process spanning insights, ideation and validation through to design implementationThe ability to challenge the assumptions of oneself as well of those around youPreferred experience in complex industries like FinTech, HealthTech, or InsureTechAble to come into our San Francisco office at least one day a week

The US national base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000 - $217,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
