We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our growing team at Vitro Automotive Glass in Crestline, OH. At our manufacturing facilities, we value continuous learning, innovation and safety.

Responsibilities
The position coordinates various plant accounting functions, including cost accounting, monthly closing, inventory controls, plant production reporting and cost analysis.
Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the general ledger in SAP. Assists the Plant Controller of Information and Financial Services in assessing the adequacy of internal controls and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
The position will be responsible for developing various aspects of the plant’s cost budget and ensuring that the cost and general accounting systems are updated to be consistent with the budget.
This position will function as a back up to the Plant Controller.
- Process daily, weekly and monthly cost reports.
- Update cost data for corporate reporting.
- Audit Cycle counts.
- Prepare reports for local management on a weekly basis.
- Review general ledger entries to ensure the accuracy of the data.
- Daily Budget Administrator for the FM module in SAP.
- Prepare cost models as needed.
- Develop various aspects of the plant’s cost budget.
- Prepare balance sheet accounts reconciliation.
- Prepare journal entries and reports for month end close.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree, with Accounting emphasis or major is preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing is required
- Minimum of 2 plus years of progressively more responsible business experience
- Detailed knowledge of accounting principles
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
- Highly motivated to learn and work in a hands on environment
- Highly effective communication and organizational skills are essential
- Skilled in using Microsoft programs.
