Duties : JOB PURPOSE :
JOB PURPOSE :
The primary purpose of this position is to maintain a high standard of cleanliness with an Client on infection control procedures and an esthetically attractive environment for all Hospital patients, visitors, physicians and staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES :
1. Performs waste disposal including soiled linen : i.e., collects soiled waste, transports it to the compactor in covered bin, handles bio-hazard, recognizes bio-hazardous waste, etc..
2. Performs miscellaneous EVS tasks as assigned : i.e., moves furniture, replaces cubicle curtains, assists EVS in deep cleaning patient areas, and identifies and reports safety hazards and needed repairs to Supervisor.
3. Cares and cleans EVS equipment : i.e., at end of shift or at end of using, cleans mop bucket / wringer, cleans EVS cart, cleans EVS closet / storage area, etc..
4. Identifies cleaning products and usage : i.e., knows name and purpose of products to use in specific areas assigned for cleaning the following surfaces : tile / hard surface floors and counter surfaces in clinical / patient care areas, upholstered furniture, carpets and wooden surfaces.
5. Cleans and disinfects public and outpatient areas : i.e., dusts and cleans walls, dusts and wet mops floors, machine buffs floors, cleans windows and drinking fountains, polishes metals and furniture, replenishes and restocks supplies and linens, spot cleans and / or shampoos carpets, as required.
6. Cleans office areas : i.e, empties wastebaskets, dusts and cleans tables, desks, chairs, furniture, and fixtures. Cleans bathrooms, dusts and wet mops or vacuums floors, high dusts, replenishes supplies, and checks for needed maintenance and repairs and notifies supervisor of need.
7. Sets up meeting / conference rooms : i.e., reviews requests, moves furniture into desired floor plan, delivers audiovisual equipment and / or unlocks audiovisual cabinet, etc..
Skills :
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum :
Knowledge of cleaning large facilities. Proficient in English. Preferred : Knowledge of proper use of cleaning fluids.
YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE Preferred : 2 years experience.
