Job Summary
Location : USA
The position will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and creating value in structuring development transactions around Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS).
In addition, the employee will be responsible for managing the overall customer relationship established with any potential CCS project.
The candidate must be enthusiastic about working within a team-oriented environment which is focused on shaping and developing decarbonization projects in the rapidly evolving CCS market.
The ability to develop and lead simultaneous projects and achieve successful outcomes is a must. The employee exercises independent discretion and judgment within established policies, procedures, and practices.
Performance results are reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to these policies, procedures, and practices.
Key Accountabilities
- Drives origination of CCS opportunities across the US, with a focus on the Midwest
- Responsible for overall commercial leadership for CCS projects including external relationship management, commercial negotiations, contract negotiations, internal resource management
- Responsible for obtaining internal approvals for development projects, including at the Executive and Board of Directors level
- Identifies bolt-on value creation opportunities to existing CCS projects
- Identifies key strategic issues in advancing the CCS opportunity set for DTE Vantage
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- A bachelors degree in an engineering, business, or economics discipline (emphasis in finance a plus) with a minimum five years of experience with an independent energy company, or alternatively, a consulting firm or investment bank focused on energy
- CCS experience in an academic or commercial setting
- Possess a broad range of financial and commercial skills, be capable of managing the details of complex transactions

- A Master of Business Administration
- Ability to identify value-creation opportunities
- Possess a commercial background and be familiar with all aspects of structuring commercial transactions in the energy industry and in negotiations of the related commercial and financial agreements
- Possess strong project management skills
- Possess excellent modeling skills and in valuation methodologies and financial disciplines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation skills, including advanced PowerPoint ability
Other Requirements :
- Ability to travel as necessary for customer demands and industry events, expectation of four to six weeks per quarter.
- Hybrid work environment, with on-site travel to the Detroit headquarters as needed
