WHAT WE NEED

We are looking for a Software Engineer Tester to join our team! The Software Engineer Tester will assure quality by finding discrepancies, bugs and issues before a feature’s release to production.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of code-based testing of software products developed by Outsell.

Responsibilities Include :

  • Develop solutions and frameworks for test management, execution and reporting.
  • Design and structure test cases for features, based on business acceptance criteria in a repeatable, automatable way.
  • Build and maintain automated test sets for efficient regular execution.
  • Troubleshoot failing tests by using browser developer tools, reading log files, and reviewing test results.
  • Bring a customer-centric viewpoint to feature discussions and advocate for the end user.
  • Test, troubleshoot, question and critique software components, interfaces and procedures.
  • Plan, design, code and execute functional tests.
  • Work directly with development resources to provide actionable feedback aimed at proactively improving engineering practices resulting in the delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Provide expertise to Business Analysts and UX resources to produce high quality acceptance criteria in the Agile story generation and refinement process.
  • Track and communicate quality metrics.
  • Clearly and effectively report on the progress of projects assigned.
  • Work with internal and external users to triage, reproduce and describe issues encountered with product during all lifecycle stages.
  • With guidance from Senior colleagues, participate in performance, scalability and security quality efforts.
  • Demonstrate the values of Outsell in everyday interactions, both inside and outside of the company.
  • Perform other duties as required.

WHO WE WANT

If you have the following education, experience and competencies, this might be the role for you!

Education and Experience :

  • BA / BS degree in computer science; and
  • Four (4) years’ experience testing.NET based Web applications and web services in a Cloud hosted environment (AWS preferred).
  • Two (2) years’ experience writing C# code in a team environment.
  • Experience with an automated testing tool such as Selenium or Playwright using manually crafted xPath mappings.
  • Experience writing SQL queries to find testing data inside of relational databases.
  • Preferred experience in an Agile, Azure Dev Ops managed development practice.
  • A combination of education and work experience necessary to perform key responsibilities

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duties are performed in a regular office environment. Physical requirements include :

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time and performing long hours of work in office setting.
  • Ability to effectively to communicate in person, electronically, and over the phone with customers, employees, and others internal to and outside of the organization.
  • Mental focus for long periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a copy machine or printer.
  • Ability to review and work with printed documents.
  • Occasionally may lift objects, technology and office equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Commuting by car and plane to headquarters periodically.
