Hocker is a Texas-based landscape architecture studio with projects across North America. We produce high quality built work with a design acumen and eye for detail that has yielded our firm many accolades.
We are seeking a new Landscape Designer for our team that has a passion for landscape architecture, design, horticulture, and the built environment.
- The landscape designer will, under the supervision of a licensed landscape architect, assist with project research and data compilation to be used in design process;
- establish artistic aesthetic for concept and space design; produce conceptual and site planning and graphics (hand and digital);
- schematic / preliminary design plans and graphics, design development and construction documents, plans and details; produce quantity take-offs and develop cost estimates;
- prepare technical construction drawings including hardscape, grading and draining, and planting design drawing and specification for bid documents;
and conduct site inventory and analysis.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ proven experience with a landscape architecture studio. This experience should include :
- Landscape architecture project work ranging from master planning and conceptualization through construction administration.
- Production of construction documents that exhibit a legible and organized graphic quality and constructible content.
- Evidenced ability to prioritize work on multiple projects and project deadlines.
- Effective team player with a positive attitude.
- Communication and personal skills that promote the development of strong, collaborative team relationships.
- Creation of presentations for client and consultant project meetings.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp or Rhino, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop).
Experience with Revit is a plus, but not required.)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (primarily Outlook, Word, and Excel.)
Education Requirements : Please have a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited landscape architecture program, plus 2 years relative experience.
Alternately, a Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture and 4 years relative experience is acceptable. Travel Required : No
