Job Goal
To assist teachers, counselors, parents, and administrators in creating an environment in which academic success is the main focus.
Essential Functions
- Plans a program of study that will meet the needs, interests, and abilities of the assigned students.
- Assists in creating a classroom environment conducive and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Cooperates with the classroom teacher in guiding the students’ learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives, and communicating these objectives to students.
- Provides ongoing assessment and progress reports for assigned students.
- Evaluates the learning abilities of assigned students and seeks the assistance of district specialists if required.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Attends staff meetings and serves on assigned staff committees.
- Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.
Evaluation
The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of personnel.
