Job Goal
To assist teachers, counselors, parents, and administrators in creating an environment in which academic success is the main focus.
Essential Functions
Plans a program of study that will meet the needs, interests, and abilities of the assigned students.
Assists in creating a classroom environment conducive and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
Cooperates with the classroom teacher in guiding the students’ learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, in establishing clear objectives, and in communicating these objectives to students.
Provides ongoing assessment and progress reports for assigned students.
Evaluates the learning abilities of assigned students and seeks the assistance of district specialists if required.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precaution to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilitates.
Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
Attends staff meetings and serves on assigned staff committees.
Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
