Research Director D

The Neurodevelopment & Psychosis Section is recruiting for a Research Director D to support a growing research agenda in neurodevelopmental and biomarker studies.

The research program includes multiple projects integrating brain behavior, genomics and biomarkers, with an emphasis on youth and psychosis.

The Research Director D will support the Section Director, Program Directors and Investigators in attaining research goals and maintaining the research agenda of the Section.

This support includes knowledge and synthesis of the evidence base, preparation of reports (scientific, administrative and regulatory), timely dissemination of Section achievements, oversight of research procedures, and engage in strategic initiatives that facilitate the overall cohesiveness of the diverse research agenda.

The Research Director D will work closely with faculty to implement project workplans, monitor progress / milestones, and integration with bioinformatics.

Responsibilities include :

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Section’s research agenda, including supervision of Section staff (as assigned) and advisement to faculty investigators.

The Research Director D will lead quality assurance surveillance of clinical research activity, including the oversight and development of training initiatives, audit manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Collaborate with the Section’s administrative and finance team on strategy development for all operational activities to ensure that appropriate strategies are aligned with institutional objectives and financial supports (e.

g., clinical research budgets). The Research Director D will develop / refine best practices, methods, techniques, and operational standards for clinical research across the Section.

  • Implement streamlined and standardized processes to eliminate redundancies and ensure sound financial stewardship. The Research Director D will monitor SOP adherence of research staff in conjunction with faculty investigators and will provide remedial training as needed.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships. Act as a liaison between key stakeholders, e.g., community partners, commercial partners, alumni, industry and legislators.

The Research Director D will direct communication of priorities to facilitate execution of goals and milestones through organized, regular meetings, status updates, and other written communications.

Operationalize and oversee data collection, reporting of clinical trials metrics and archival requirements. Establish data collection methodologies, data validation, and the implementation of reporting technologies.

Oversee and conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to quality standards, operational best practices, and to identify potential risks.

Assist the Section Director in the preparation of evidence-based reports, manuscripts, and other dissemination activities;

perform literature searches, review and synthesize the state-of-the-science for multiple products.

Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications

The minimum of a Master's degree (PhD strongly preferred) in a behavioral, social or biomedical field, and 5-7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

An established track record of experience working with diverse psychiatric populations and integrating multiple measures (e.

g., clinical, cognitive, neuroimaging, inflammatory, genomic) is highly preferred. Superb organizational skills, communication skills and multi-tasking are necessary for this position, as well as strong computer skills and database interface.

Background check required. Must pass Pennsylvania’s Child Protective Services Act (also known as Act 73) background checks, within 30-90 days of employment.

Pay Range
