Our client, a highly esteemed law firm, is seeking a Legal Aide to join their team in New Orleans, LA. In this role, you will provide comprehensive support to a group of attorneys, performing a wide range of secretarial, administrative, and legal duties.

Primary Responsibilities :
- Utilize technology resources to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness for the attorneys.
- Create and manage documents using various office software applications.
- Have a solid understanding of legal processes to accurately prepare client documents and meet filing deadlines.
- Coordinate e-filings and state court filings, handle incoming / outgoing mail, faxes, and document scanning.
- Organize and file documents in appropriate workspaces and paper files.
- Maintain attorneys' daily calendars, schedule appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Manage Outlook contacts for attorneys as needed.
- Assist with opening / closing files and conducting conflict checks.
- Support attorneys with timesheets and regular billing tasks.
- Submit reimbursement requests for attorneys and client costs.
- Maintain professional and confidential relationships with clients.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Qualifications and Required Skills :
A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; an Associates Degree, certification from Business School, or related education is desirable.
Relevant experience may be considered in place of educational requirements.
- Preferably, 3+ years of litigation secretarial experience in a law firm environment.
- Expertise in office software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PDF.
- Familiarity with legal practices, terminology, documents, and court procedures.
- Flexible and solution-oriented approach, ability to handle pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent typing, spelling, grammar, proofreading, transcription, and general clerical skills.
- Strong coordination, organizational, and file management abilities.
- Proficiency in operating standard office equipment, such as computers, copiers, printers, fax machines, and telephones.
