A Brief Overview
The Clerical Assistant is responsible for answering department primary phone lines, and performing assigned clerical tasks including maintaining files, answering phones, opening and distribution of mail, preparing correspondence and reports, scheduling meetings, researching special projects, ordering office supplies, and recording of meeting minutes.

What you will do
- Acts as a receptionist for the unit including greeting individuals and managing phone calls and visitors.
- Builds customer relations through positive interaction with patients and other hospital departments.
- Consistently and accurately registers patients in Epic with all required information and keeps up with new registration requirements.
- Responsible for obtaining all insurance and / or employer authorization as applicable.
- Responsible for explaining benefits and co-payments to patients as applicable.
- Accurately enters and / or reconciles daily charges.
- Responsible for tracking supplies and matching PO with supplies received.
- Responsible for subpoena and medical record requests, locating medical reports in various systems.
- Responsible for the completion of the study module monthly.
- Attends department and hospital wide meetings and serves on committees as assigned.
- Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions
Education Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Required
Experience Qualifications
1+ year to 2 years as a general office assistant Required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft product software.
- Ability to multi task efficiently.
- Knowledge of Nursing, Hospital-wide, and personnel policies and procedures.
Licenses and Certifications
Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for HealthcareProviders required

Base Pay Scale : Generally starting at $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
