The Development Officer Major Gifts is responsible for prospect list of 125 to 150 individuals. Duties include personally developing and implementing strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals for support of hospital fundraising priorities including restricted, unrestricted, and endowment support.

Contributes to the attainment of the overall fundraising goal for the Bridgeport Hospital Foundation as well as the Major Gift goal.

Participates as a member of the overall Development team, Major Gifts team, and reports directly to the Chief Development Officer.

Responsibilities

1. Manage prospect portfolio and apply moves management to approximately 150 donors in support of the individual Major Gifts goal for the Foundation.

Solicit and manage leadership gifts in support of targeted hospital priorities.

2. In partnership with the Major Gift team, implement programs as required.

Develops, writes, prepares, and disseminates donor correspondence, and writes and / or assists in the design, production, and distribution of letters, solicitation proposals, web pages, case statement, and other fundraising materials as appropriate.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Minimum bachelor's degree. CFRE preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum five (5) years solid major gift fundraising experience preferred.

LICENSURE

Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) preferred.

Additional Information

HOURS : Full time; Days 8 : 30am to 5 : 00pm

Must be able to establish revenue goals, number of qualified prospects, number of visits, number of renewal / first time gifts, number of solicitations, number of gift closures, and other moves required.

Will perform and report on a wide variety of tasks related to fundraising. Candidate must be persuasive, personable, and an appropriate hospital representative.
