Position Summary : The Dietician is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating the nutritional care provided to high-risk patients.

The dietician creates nutrition plans to improve the health and physical condition of patients or clients by analyzing the patients’ health status, goals, and dietary restrictions.

The dietician will track the progress of patients and education them on how to maintain a balanced diet. Using scientific research, behavioral science and social science, the dietitian promotes health and prevents disease.

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities.

It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia.

Work experience : Minimum 1-3 years dietician experience (or related experience) Knowledge : Knowledge of basic nutritional assessments for all age groups.

Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel. Skills : Demonstrates effective teaching skills and documents accordingly on the multidisciplinary education form for all patient populations.

Exceptional communication, problem solving, public speaking and listening skills. Strong computer and data entry skills Compassion and genuine interest in helping others develop better eating habits.

Analytical, caring, and knowledgeable Problem-solving Abilities : Willingness to continue training and research to keep current on latest discoveries and developments in the field.

Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required trainings and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer Equipment Operated : Standard office equipment - PC, copier, printer, scanner, phone, physical files Work environment : Combination of office and exam / procedures room settings.

Works in a well-lighted, OSHA Standard environment May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases May be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances Occasionally subject to irregular hours May be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary Travel Requirements : Up to 10% US travel Must be able to travel to facilities as needed.
