What You Will Be Doing

• Create, develop, and sustain web applications and APIs utilizing Python, Django, PHP, and other pertinent technologies.
• Work with frontend developers to implement user interfaces and ensure seamless integration of frontend and backend components.
• Produce clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews to ensure software quality and maintainability.
• Enhance application performance and scalability by identifying and resolving bottlenecks and performance issues.
• Apply security best practices to safeguard against common web application vulnerabilities like SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and cross-site request forgery (CSRF).
• Integrate third-party services and APIs to improve application functionality and user experience.
• Diagnose and resolve issues reported by users, ensuring timely fixes and high customer satisfaction.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in web technologies, sharing knowledge and insights with the team.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of development processes and practices by suggesting and implementing enhancements to streamline workflows and boost productivity.

What You Will Need

• At least 5 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer, specializing in Python, Django, and PHP.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Expertise in backend development with Python and Django, including building RESTful APIs and web services.
• Thorough understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Advanced proficiency in PHP development, with experience in frameworks like Laravel or Symfony.
• Knowledge of database systems such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, including database design and optimization.
• Experience in unit testing.
• Strong documentation abilities.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail, capable of analyzing complex technical issues and proposing effective solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, effective in team environments and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience in local government or public sector, particularly in public safety (police and fire).
• Proficient in frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks / libraries (e.g., React, Vue.js).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows (e.g., GitFlow).
