AESC's Tennessee gigafactory in Smyrna, which has been operational since 2012, produces batteries for Nissan. The Kentucky gigafactory in Bowling Green will supply Mercedes-Benz with high-performance battery cell modules.
The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply technology-leading battery cells for new electric models produced in BMW Group's Spartanburg plant.

About the Role
AESC seeks a highly skilled Structural Engineering Lead who will play a pivotal role in our Global Industrialization Development group to support our U.

What You Will Do
- Lead structural engineering efforts as the subject matter expert, in close collaboration with other departments to ensure the structural integrity and safety of our facilities while adhering to sustainable and environmentally friendly construction practices.
- Perform structural analysis, design, and calculations to ensure that buildings and infrastructure are capable of withstanding environmental factors and operational loads while implementing the latest engineering standards and best practices.
- Develop comprehensive design strategies for structural engineering.
- Supporting project planning, budgeting, and supervisory support over the entire design and construction process.
- Lead a team of structural engineers, engineering contractors and consultants, providing guidance and technical support.
- Ensure that all designs and construction activities adhere to local and international building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Continuously explore innovative materials and construction techniques to optimize the structural performance, sustainability, and cost-efficiency of battery manufacturing facilities.
- Implement quality control and assurance processes to guarantee the reliability and safety of all structural elements.
- Ensure adherence to applicable design standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct periodic design quality control reviews to assess compliance and address any deficiencies or deviations.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering or civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering
- 10+ years of experience in industrial structural engineering design, in overseeing Owner’s Capital Development projects in either battery manufacturing, semi-conductor, pharma / medical industry (clean room), or scientific laboratory facilities, through entire project life cycle, from inception to turn-over.
- Professional Engineer license or equivalent experience required.
- Extensive clean room experience in terms of ISO Classes.
- Working knowledge of the following :
- Various Codes (IBC, ADA, NFPAs, etc.)
- CSI specifications coordination (All CSI Divisions 1 to 33)
- 3D BIM clash detection
- Sustainable design principles
- Proficiency n Bluebeam, Sketch Up, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Vizio, SharePoint, OneNote, Azure, Revit, CAD, Navisworks, Photoshop, In Design.
- Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
- Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards.)

- Ability to read and decipher technical reports, Code Analysis report, geotechnical, and environmental reports.

Travel
Occasional domestic and international travel required.

Work Environment
