SUMMARY :

Responsible for providing leadership and administrative oversight by coordinating the activities of the assigned business unit.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsible for all marketing, sales, purchasing of refined product supply and customer relations for a significant portion of one of the company's business units.
  • Has profit and loss responsibility.
  • Business may operate in multiple locations and may have operational responsibilities, pricing (revenue) authority, and / or purchasing authority.
  • Provides top management with accurate and timely market information.
  • Identifies and develops strategies for new business opportunities.
  • Increases market share through expansion of current customer base.
  • Develops new markets and product lines.
  • Develops and maintains business relations with customer base.

EDUCATION :

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, sales & marketing, engineering, or a related field; or a combination of post-high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE :

10+ years general business experience in the Sales and Marketing of Refined Products, NGL Products, or Chemicals. Experience in the Pacific Basin preferred.

Logistics experience a must.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY :

Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word, with proven experience in developing, improving, and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal / external business partners.
  • Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop changes or alternatives.
  • Ability to prepare, monitor, and administer budgets, as well as the ability to perform financial analysis.
  • Ability to function effectively with, or as part of, a team.
  • Ability to indirectly mentor, coach, train, and / or supervise employees.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope.
  • Ability to identify and / or document existing and new trends, as well as evaluate and predict their impact on the organization.
  • Ability to provide subject matter expertise, counsel, and effectively influence others at various levels within the organization.
  • Knowledge of and ability to conduct need, trend, feasibility, and performance assessments.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts, principles, and practices of change management.

JOB SCOPE :

Position impacts multiple business units / segments. Works throughout Alaska, Arctic Canada, Northern British Columbia but not limited to this geography.

Travel up to 40% of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS :

Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor, and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
