Description of Service Opportunity :
Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Summer School Administrator will be responsible for all activities within their assigned building during the 2024 Summer learning period : July 1 - August 2nd.
Responsibilities include :
Supervise faculty and staff assigned to building during the summer learning period, July 1 - August 2nd..
Work collaboratively with the summer program leaders and building administrators with regard to matters involving the safety, health and welfare of students, use and care of facilities, and consistent implementation of building-wide and district policies and objectives.
Develop and implement effective structures to promote and support community building and effective, respectful communications and relationships among students, faculty, staff, and parents.
Collaborate with the Department of Special Education to support effective implementation of special education, SEI, and other specialized services to students, including IEP’s and 504 plans.
Meet regularly, and maintain effective communications with summer program leaders, and district administrators to assure a consistently high quality, standards-based grades 6-8 educational program.
Responsible for day to day building operations management that ensures the well being of staff and students in all programs as well as the responsible use of CPS facilities.
Schedule :
June 1 - July 5, 2024 : As needed for program preparation, set up, and staff professional learning
July 1 - August 2, 2024; (Summer Program Dates) on site 7 : 30 am-3 : 30pm, Monday -Friday

Minimum Requirements :
Requirements :
Master’s degree in educational leadership, educational administration or equivalent major.
Certification : Massachusetts DESE : Principal / Assistant Principal 5-9 or K-8, or demonstrated work toward certification.
Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications, and administrative skills, with proven ability to establish high educational standards, and positively motivate staff towards assuring academic excellence for all students.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across a broad range of diverse constituencies.

June 1 - July 5, 2024 : $60 per hour ($2,400, not to exceed 40 hours)
July 8 - August 2, 2024 : $60 per hour ($9,600, not to exceed 160 hours)
