Position Definition :
Under minimal direction of the Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist ensures the timely payments of vendor invoices and reimbursement requests.
Essential Functions :
- Maintain the integrity of the Accounts Payable module in compliance with GAAP and NCIRE policy
- Accurately review, code, obtain approval, and process vendor invoices and reimbursement requests
- Process payments via checks and ACH
- Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies
- Responsible for accurate vendor set-up and maintenance
- Research and respond to accounts payable inquiries
- Distribute accounts payable checks and process for filing
- Interface and coordinates with purchasing agent
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements :
- BA / BS in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years accounts payable experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills with both internal and external parties
- Highest degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
- Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
- Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills
- Ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include sitting for extended periods of time and operating assigned computer equipment
Working Conditions / Environment :
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The base wage range for this position is $26.45-$35.10 per hour. Salary and rank will commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
The wage actually offered to a successful candidate will take into account various relevant and non-discriminatory business factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, and skills, and education, as well as internal equity considerations.
A successful candidate may also be eligible to earn additional compensation including bonuses.
