SUMMARY
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees all aspects of warehouse operations, providing leadership and ensuring smooth functionality.
This role is focused on developing and enhancing processes to optimize performance across various areas. The supervisor will gain a deep understanding of each operation and leverage data and metrics to drive improvements.
Additionally, they will become an expert in the ERP system to ensure transactions are executed accurately and efficiently.
A key responsibility of this position is to lead safety initiatives and training efforts in the Distribution Center located in the suburbs of North Dayton.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and lead operational Toolbox projects to achieve desired results and enhance efficiencies.
- Provide backup support for warehouse leadership roles as required ensuring seamless operations and sustained productivity during absences or peak times.
- Provide guidance and support to staff, addressing any issues or concerns.
- Assist in creating and managing work schedules.
- Monitor operational processes and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity.
- Work with carriers, vendors, OEM suppliers, and customers in a timely and efficient manner.
- Support facilities related projects to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Work closely with the Division Safety Manager to drive the Genuine Parts Safety Team to ensure workplace safety standards are maintained.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Leads and directs the warehouse teams.
- D365 SuperUser Point person for ERP in Warehouse Operations.
- Actively lead the Genuine Parts Safety Committee and Training for the Distribution Center.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with Transportation is preferred, but not required.
- Certification in Six Sigma and ISO 9001 is preferred.
- Operational Understanding in how a team and shift complete daily tasks
- Picking, packing, shipping functions in a Distribution Center
- Understanding of how Parcel and LTL carriers operate and function
- Critical Thinking skills to solve time sensitive shipping issues

8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm
Flexibility with schedule to meet critical deadlines.
Will be responsible for covering some split shift operations
Overtime / Extended hours may include nights and / or weekends.
Normal scheduled hours cover early mornings, evenings and / or weekends.
