Summary :

The Network Administrator II participates in data networkmaintenance and support. This includes all networking systemsincluding WAN / LAN / wireless infrastructure.

The NetworkAdministrator II also performs maintenance procedures on networkinghardware, cabling, operating systems, and infrastructure.

TheNetwork Administrator II is expected to remain current ondevelopments in telecommunications and networking technology.

TheNetwork Administrator II has strong technical knowledge andexperience in routers, bridges, IP addressing, switches, hubs,other network devices, protocols, diagnostic tools and all existingnetwork architectures (Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, etc).

In addition,strong analytical and problem solving skills are critical totroubleshooting networking issues and analysis of system andnetwork performance.

The Network Administrator II is responsiblefor delivering high quality cost-effective solutions to all levelsof users, and is also responsible for supporting the business goalsand objectives for the Department, the Information ServicesOrganization, and the organization as a whole

Responsibilities :

Demonstrate strong knowledge andtroubleshooting skills in one or more of the following : advancedrouter and switch management and configuration;

wirelessinfrastructure and circuits such as ATM, gigabit and metroEthernet

• Demonstrate strong customer service,communication and human relationship skills when dealing withcustomers, fellow associates andvendors
• Identify and manage intermediate levelproblems and issues with assigned productionsystems
• Utilize standard and ad-hoc proceduresto perform problem resolution for system
• Useappropriate tools to track and report problem status and escalatein a timely manner
• Participate in activitiesrelated to the testing of telecommunications and networkingupgrades and enhancements
• Produce and maintaintechnical documentation on the assignedsystems
• Document and update telecommunicationsand networking technical standards andprocedures
• Maintain data in network managementtools for accuracy
• Produce required departmentreporting associated with projects and problems assigned, whichincludes current status and problem documentation summary withinthe problem management system
• Manageintermediate level internal projects including tasks, deadlines andreporting
• Participate in departmental programsthat promote and deliver exceptional customerservice
• Follow established policies, proceduresand standards defined by thedepartment
• Participate in the development anddocumentation of procedures for day-to-day tasks within assignedareas of support and maintenance, including the development ofprocesses and procedures for otherteams
• Understand and adhere to all securitypolicies and procedures relating to systems, data, and physicaldata center security and safety
• Identify andresolve or escalate any issues or violations to management andother groups, as needed
• Maintain a clean,organized and safe work environment
• Demonstratethe ability to learn and support new technologies throughe-learning, self study, and peertraining / studies
• Assist other IM teams byproviding second level technical support andguidance
• Participate in after-hours technicalsupport by rotating call schedule on a regularbasis
• Perform other duties as assigned bymanagement or designee

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science orrelative field or 2 years equivalentexperience.
• Two years of hands-onimplementation and troubleshooting experience in LAN / WANenvironments desired.
• Must be able toconfigure, troubleshoot and deploy WAN circuits using PTP, ASE,MPLS (etc).
• Must be able to configure,troubleshoot and deploy networks using EIGRP, OSPFtechnologies.
• Layer 2 and Layer 3implementation and troubleshooting with knowledge of networkingprotocols, wireless access and security.
• Experience working with Cisco and / or Aruba wired and wirelessproducts.
• Knowledge of monitoring productswith Solarwinds being preferred.
• Knowledge ofDHCP, DNS and IPAM technologies.
• Must havegood understanding of Windows Operating Systems, MicrosoftAD.
• Good documentation skills using MicrosoftVisio and / or other documentationsoftware / systems.
• Experience with design andinstallation of cabling infrastructure.
• Mustbe detail oriented, have strong problem-solving skills and theability to work well with little or nosupervision.
• Strong customer service andinterpersonal skills.
• Good time managementskills and ability to multi-task.
• Must havereliable transportation and be able to travel regularly withintheir respected area of responsibilities.
