Our client, a global organization headquartered in Columbus, OH, is seeking an Assistant Controller. This is the ideal role for an accomplished professional looking to leverage their leadership abilities and accounting knowledge in an entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee accounting cycles including accounts payable, cash management, and billing
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain general ledger
- Manage fixed asset accounting and reporting
- Support with financial close processes and external audits
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management
- Identify process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
- Provide guidance and supervision to the accounting staff
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial matters
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic projects as needed
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, accounting standards, and regulations
- Ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Controller
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA or MBA is strongly preferred
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience managing and leading an accounting team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, experience in a start-up environment preferred
- Strong technical accounting skills and software proficiency
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
