Starting Compensation :
Peer Support Specialist I : $17.15 - $19.72 per hour based on experience.
Certified Peer Support Specialist II : $18.62 - $21.42 per hour based on experience.
Livingston County Community Mental Health Authority is excited to offer an Employee Signing Incentive to eligible new hires.
Regular full-time employees will receive $2,000, less applicable taxes. More information on terms and conditions will be made available at the time an offer of employment is made.

Role :
This regular full-time peer support specialist position is part of an exciting program to embed a "Behavioral Health Peer Navigator" in the local emergency room.
The Peer Navigator will work with people presenting at the emergency room with mental health needs. The Peer Navigator will share their own recovery story when appropriate to provide hope and guidance.
The Peer Navigator will provide support and advocacy for people and their mental health needs during their emergency room visit.
They will connect people with mental health resources in the community for follow-up services with warm handoffs to providers.
They will also remove barriers to accessing care and provide follow-up support. The Peer Navigator will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of mental health and medical providers.
The Peer Navigator will work under the supervision of the Program Coordinator and Program Director.

Job Specific Requirements :
Peer staff must have a high school diploma and experience as a primary consumer in recovery from mental health needs. A valid MI driver's license is required.
Certified Peer Support II : must have completed Michigan training and obtained certification as a peer support specialist.
All potential employees need to pass both CMH and hospital prehire requirements including fingerprinting, vaccinations, etc.
Hours will be weekdays into the evenings and some hours on Saturdays.
