Job Description
- Through frequent contact with Plant Manager and other members of management, participate in planning and / or decision making in matters concerning financial and operational problems, inventory control, plant policy and facility / maintenance issues and staffing.
- Coordinate execution of manufacturing schedules and priorities within the production plan to satisfy customer requirements.
- Maintain and track adequate metrics to ensure levels of performance are known and improved upon.
- Identify and implement methods and practices to achieve steady improvement in efficiency, quality, service, and continuous improvement in operating profits.
- Implement and enforce all policies, practices, and benefits to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all people working at the facility.
- Communicate and demonstrate the best practices, ethics, values, and philosophy such that these cultural attributes are incorporated throughout the organization.
- Develop, motivate, and coach employees as necessary, including performance management.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, supplies, contractors, and key intra-company people to effectively manage the operation for best results.
- Ensure thorough training and daily audits that safe practices are constantly employed throughout the facility.
- Ensure all functional areas have accurate, timely information.
- Actively participate in cross-functional company-wide teams to assist in driving quality improvements, process improvements, business system enhancements and process standardization.
- Review order exception reports to identify root cause and takes appropriate corrective action.
- Assist in the creation of training plans and programs and promote cross-training opportunities.

The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business.
- Master's degree or MBA
- Experience with Lean / Six Sigma.
- Experience leading Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Direct managerial experience within Operations or Manufacturing environment.
- Stamping or Tooling experience
- Applied working knowledge and experience with manufacturing procedures / practices, Lean / Six Sigma, safety and quality assurance, Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering, Inventory Control, Purchasing and Production Planning
- Leadership style which drives accountability
- Ability to clearly express ideas to direct, motivate and train team members
- Communicate clearly to all levels of the organization concerning production, quality, safety, product design, etc. to ensure that manufacturing goals are met
- Experienced with Visual Management systems
