Summary :

Invicro is currently looking for a Scientist who will execute in vivo, small animal medical imaging studies, including nuclear medicine (PET / SPECT), computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the context of a multi-modal imaging laboratory to aid in the development of novel therapeutics.

The qualified candidate will be charged with the management of the day to day imaging staffwithin the laboratory, as well as communicate data and project updates.

This position will provide an opportunity for growth in leadership skills and exposure to cutting-edge sponsor research projects.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Hands-on animal research using advanced instrumentation in collaboration with leading medical imaging scientists
  • Performance of in vivo pharmacology procedures including injections of imaging and therapeutic agents
  • Training and management of staff to best allocate resources for study execution
  • Collaborate within a matrixed environment with research staff, business development, project management, and image analysis teams
  • Partner with group members to explore imaging physics, literature, and professional societies
  • Produce comprehensive reports and presentations of research to internal project managers and external collaborators

Qualifications and skills :

  • BS in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, medical physics, radiologic sciences, pharmacology or other engineering degree and 3+ years of experience in an in vivo imaging and pharmacology lab
  • 7+ years direct, hands on experience in an in vivo imaging and pharmacology lab
  • Experience training and managing day to day activities of junior staff
  • Experience should include academic or industrial projects utilizing imaging technology, programming, pharmacology or other applicable engineering skills
  • Previous experience operating medical imaging equipment and with research involving radioactive imaging agents
  • Project planning and execution in a cross-functional laboratory environment. Critical review of protocol for best practice imaging execution
  • Organized with ability to manage complex experimental designs
  • Comfort with various computer operating systems and programs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to productively partner with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with more than one imaging instrument or modality
  • Experience with rodent models of disease including rodent surgery
